Descrizione

The Mission Innovation Champions is a new recognition programme to celebrate and support innovative individuals who are accelerating the clean energy.

Launched at the Paris Climate Conference in 2015, Mission Innovation (MI) is a global initiative of 22 countries and the European Commission, on behalf of the European Union, seeking to dramatically accelerate global clean energy innovation and make clean energy widely affordable and reliable.

It will recognize exceptional researchers and innovators who are developing new ways of making energy cleaner, cheaper and more reliable, while also using it more efficiently -  calling worldwide attention to the most promising ideas from across the globe.

This programme is part of the global initiative Mission Innovation and will contribute to its objectives by fostering cross-border exchanges of ideas and talent, while also raising a greater awareness among the wider clean energy community about the transformational potential of energy innovation.

Mission Innovation Champions are individuals with a track record of progressing creative new ideas that can drive the pace and scale of the clean energy revolution—the people who are inventing the products and services of the future or discovering the science that underpins them. They may be working in government laboratories, local universities, long-standing research firms, or their own recently launched clean technology start-up companies. Champions may be from “traditional” inventor disciplines such as sciences, engineering, mathematics, and architecture or from other fields.

One Champion from each Mission Innovation member participating in the programme will be selected.

Participating countries include: Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates.

A Champion representing the European Commission will be selected from a European Union country that is not an individual member of Mission Innovation: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain.

Selected Champions will be flown to the fourth Mission Innovation ministerial meeting in Vancouver, Canada in May 2019, where there may be additional opportunities to interact directly with Ministers and business leaders.

Register no later than 5:00 PM GMT on 10 September 2018.

There are two types of reviews that your submission may receive: Peer-to-Peer Review and Evaluation Panel Review.
